From Tragedy to Action
Our journey began when founder Muhereza Augustine witnessed a devastating fire ravage a school dormitory, leaving hundreds without belongings. This trauma sparked a deep empathy and a vow to extend a helping hand to fire victims, and so FVF was born. We are committed to providing immediate relief, long-term support, and advocating for fire prevention and safety.

Our Core Values
Our Work: 5 Main Programs
1. Emergency Relief and Support
Objective: Provide immediate relief and support to fire victims in Uganda including food, shelter, clothing, financial and medical assistance.
Target Group: Fire victim in Uganda, affected in schools, homes, markets or vehicle fires.
- Distribute emergency relief supplies eg food, blankets and clothing
- Provide medical assistance and psychological support
- Offer temporary shelter and accomodation program
2. Fire Prevention and Awareness
Objective: Raise awareness about fire prevention and safety measures in Uganda, particularly in schools, homes and markets.
Target Group: Communities, schools and market vendors in Uganda
- Conduct fire safety workshops and training sessions.
- Distribute safety materials such as brochures and posters.
- Organise community events and campaigns.
3. Livelihood Support & Econ Dev
Objective: Support fire victims in rebuilding their livehoods and achieving economic empowerment
Target Group: Fire victims who lost their business or livelihoods.
- Provide vocational training and business skills development
- Offer microfinance and start up support for businesses
- Provide tools and equipments for income generating activities.
4. Psychosocial Support & Trauma
Healing fire victims particularly children and vulnerable populations.
Target Group: Fire victims who have experienced trauma and distress
- Conduct counseling and therapy sessions.
- Organise support groups and peer-peer support networks
- Provide play therapy and recreational activities for children.
Fire safety infrastructure and equipment & FsF Grant Funding
Objective: Improve fire safety infrastructure and equipment in schools homes and markets in Uganda.
- Install fire alarms and suppression systems
- Provide fire extinguishers and other fire fighting equipments
- Conduct fire safety inspection and risks assessments.
NB: Adding FsF grant funding content: Our grant funding programs are set to offer financial assistance to victims re-entering the workforce and launching new startups. Apply today for livelihood rehabilitation.
